Please be advised of new Section 232 tariffs announced by the Trump Administration, effective 12:01 a.m. ET on October 14:
- 10% global tariff on softwood lumber imports.
- 25% global tariff on certain upholstered furniture (increasing to 30% on Jan. 1).
- 25% global tariff on kitchen cabinets and vanities (increasing to 50% on Jan. 1).
Preferential treatment for select trade partners:
- UK: Tariffs capped at 10%.
- EU & Japan: Combined tariffs capped at 15%.
- Canada & Mexico: Unknown at this time if there will be exemptions due to USMCA.
Additional Notes:
- Products not subject to Section 232 tariffs may face reciprocal tariffs.
- Items listed under the Potential Tariff Adjustments for Aligned Partners (PTAAP) remain unchanged unless subject to antidumping or countervailing duties.
- Negotiations with the U.S. may allow for alternative tariff arrangements.
