I got excited when I saw that Trump was stating India has agreed to not purchase oil from Russia. Before you ask, the answer is no or at least not yet as to if the tariff on India for buying Russian Oil has been changed.
Despite recent claims by President Trump, India has not officially agreed to stop importing Russian oil. The Indian government has denied any such commitment, stating that energy decisions are guided by economic and consumer interests.
Russia remains India’s top oil supplier, and while some refiners are reportedly reducing purchases due to U.S. tariff pressure, others—especially private firms—are increasing imports.
